Revenue Accountant
Reporting to the Manager, Revenue Accounting, the Revenue Accountant is integral to TPA’s success as a key player within the Finance Team. Working closely with the Revenue Team, the Revenue Accountant is responsible for the validation of revenue, including completeness of revenue interfaces, the performance of revenue control testing and investigation of variances to ensure parking transaction revenue and bank transactions reported are complete and accurate. Through the impactful auditing process, this role will be able to provide insight through data, drive results and influence change across the organization.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
Audit daily revenue integrations, assessing reasonability of interface control account balances and investigate variance including [40%]:
- Testing accuracy and completeness of general ledger interface accounts, including use of three-way matching and other application controls for high volume transaction data.
- Investigating any variances to establish root cause to prevent further errors.
- Investigating technical issues relating to ERP Revenue and Payment Interfaces with IT, SAP external consultants and internal TPA stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation to support audit work plan
- Identify and resolve issues on revenue interface, including working with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure revenue reporting procedures and processes are maintained in compliance with internal control requirements to manage risk.
- Perform revenue and payment reconciliations with high transaction volume.
- Perform detailed analysis on major variances.
- Analyze financial information to verify validity of transactions processed in SAP
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP
- Prepare monthly revenue and transaction volume reporting, support development of future revenue metrics reporting.
- Lead specific revenue sections of annual external audit and internal audit projects.
- Support system updates, new interfaces, new parking equipment and change management testing as required.
- Back-up for administrative tasks for other finance positions when required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting or related field or the approved equivalent combination of education and extensive experience related to accounting and audit.
- CPA in-progress preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting and audit experience.
- Advanced MS Office user, with a particular emphasis on advanced Excel skills (look-up functions, complex logical statements, charts, pivot tables, etc.).
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
