Under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, the Coordinator, Parking Infrastructure and Asset Management will assist in the design, co-ordination, and project management of various capital projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the coordination, design, and management of annual capital projects, including concrete restoration and renovations involving mechanical, electrical, and interior fit‑out components. Prepare design drawings, specifications, and technical documents, support the tendering process and act as the organization’s representative during construction.
- Support the design and rehabilitation of surface parking lots, including stormwater management, asphalt pavement design, civil utilities, site servicing, grading, and layout planning. Assist with on‑site construction supervision and verification of work.
- Review preliminary and final designs prepared by external consultants for compliance with organizational standards, guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Produce AutoCAD drawings for parking layouts, site plans, servicing, grading and drainage, and project‑specific or standard details.
- Assist TPA engineers in the preparation of tender documents, contract documents, change orders, payment certificates, and related project documentation.
- Track contractor invoices and compile documentation for approvals and final payment.
- Support the management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, contractors, vendors, regulatory authorities, and the public. Provide updates on project issues, progress, schedules, and deliverables.
- Assist in tracking project performance against baseline plans for internal reporting.
- Assist with preparing quantities, cost estimates, and budgetary projections.
- Assist with project scheduling, phasing, and coordinating work with internal staff, including site supervisors and operations teams.
- Attend project meetings, record minutes, and prepare correspondence when required.
- Observe construction activities to verify that contractors follow proper construction practices and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Complete additional assignments or tasks as directed, ensuring work meets established timelines, standards, and protocols.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education from an accredited engineering degree program with a focus in civil or structural engineering.
- Up to 2 years’ work experience in the field of civil or structural engineering.
- Experience delivering projects of varying complexity, size, and scope in a team environment.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and practical use of AutoCAD for drafting and design.
- Experience in surface parking lot design (grading, drainage, layout, landscaping) is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and client‑service skills.
- Working knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles and construction practices, with a focus on parking infrastructure and related assets.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple work locations and construction sites.
- Internal candidates: Employees must have at least one (1) year of continuous service in their current role to be eligible for application.
