Reporting to the Manager, Revenue Accounting, and working closely with the Revenue and Accounting Teams, the Senior Accountant is reponsible for the validation of revenue, revenue control testing and investigation of variances, general ledger analysis and financial statements preparation. This role provides insight through data, drives results and influences change across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
AUDITING & ACCOUNTING DUTIES
- Audit daily revenue integrations, assessing reasonability of interface control account balances and investigate variance including:
- Test accuracy and completeness of general ledger interface accounts, including use of three-way matching and other application controls for high volume transaction data.
- Investigate any variances to establish root cause to prevent further errors.
- Investigate technical issues relating to ERP Revenue and Payment Interfaces with IT, SAP external consultants and internal TPA stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation to support audit work plan
- Identify and resolve issues on revenue interface, including working with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure revenue reporting procedures and processes are maintained in compliance with internal control requirements to manage risk.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, with responsibilities including:
- Perform revenue and payment reconciliations with high transaction volume.
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and analysis of GL accounts for completeness and accuracy
- Complete month-end/year-end closing procedures
REPORTING AND SYSTEM INTERGRATION
- Prepare monthly revenue and transaction volume reporting, and variance analysis reporting for Manager
- Lead specific sections of annual external audit and internal audit projects
- Support system updates, new interfaces, new parking equipment and change management testing as required
- Provide back-up for administrative tasks for other finance positions when require
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting or related field or the approved equivalent combination of education and extensive experience related to accounting and audit.
- CPA or CPA in-progress preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting and audit experience.
- Advanced MS Office user, with a particular emphasis on advanced Excel skills (look-up functions, complex logical statements, charts, pivot tables, etc.).
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with good understanding of accounting principles and practices
- High level of curiosity and investigative mind-set with an attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team player with excellent organizational, evaluation and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate effectively, presenting information and ideas in a clear, convincing, and organized manner.
- Ability to work independently and able to set priorities, plan and execute tasks
